Imber

(Research mainly by Sue Dowlen)

These men are probably from the village of Imber as Reginald Kitley is the young man in the rear of the car. It is known that Reginald enlisted in Devizes on 31st August 1914, so it is believed that this photograph was taken then. However, he was discharged on September 17th as “not being likely to become an efficient soldier”. Reginald went on to re-enlist and was wounded twice, awarded a Military Medal and was also mentioned in dispatches!
